Going for 100

So here’s the plan – next week I’ll be doing my first ever 100km cycle ride, with Mark and Linda joining me for moral support. I’ve mapped out the route. you can view it here.

Ok, it’s only 99.7km but I’m sure we’ll make up the extra 300m somewhere fairly easily.

My first update with 155 days to go…

So, I signed up to take part in the cycle ride across India to raise money for two charities. They are great organisations doing a much needed work to help people who have either lost a child (in the case of the Bereaved Parent Support) or have lost their parents (that’s El Shaddai).

Over the last month I’ve probably ridden more than I’ve ridden in the last eight years combined. This morning I completed my longest ride ever – 40km – and I feel like my legs are made of jelly!

I’ll be updating the site with my progress over the coming weeks, and I’ll also be highlighting the work of the two charities I’m supporting and adding pictures too, so please make sure you check back to find our more.

That’s all for now – I need to go and recover!

Thanks for your support,

Candy.

Ride India

On the 16 October 2016 I will be setting off on a 550km cycling trek through the Western Ghats in Kerala, India. This isn’t just for fun… indeed, the thought of that distance is actually rather scary. No, I’m taking part in this sponsored ride in order to raise money for

  • El Shaddai
  • Bereaved Parent Support

Over the coming weeks and months I’ll be posting information about the two charities and my progress as I prepare for the trip.

I’m going to India as part of a team of 20 people. Every rider is wholly self-funded so all the money raised will be split between the two charities. I hope that you will join us by supporting this event. Every little helps us to help others, most of whom we will never meet, but by planting a seed of hope in their future we can change their lives forever.
